Lake Tahoe's First Big Storm For 2015/16 Ski Season

Earlier this week fall quickly faded into winter, as over a foot of snow fell at Squaw Valley. It was a beautiful way to kick off November, blanketing the mountain in fresh powder. With the California drought and lower snow levels from the past four years, it was a hefty storm for fall, and a pleasant surprise for the area.

Since we received so much snow on Monday, November 2, Mt. Rose Ski Resort opened for the season on Wednesday (November 4) as the first ski resort open in the Tahoe basin, and Boreal Mountain Resort opened today as the first ski resort open for the season in California! The colder temperatures this week also meant Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows was able to get in tons of snow making. Squaw Alpine is still slated to open Wednesday, November 25 in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

There are two things we do need to point out considering the early snowfall: 1. If you don't have your Tahoe Super Pass yet, you're blowing it big time and need to purchase one stat. You can do that HERE. 2. If you haven't booked your winter ski getaway, you need to do that stat. And also take advantage of our insanely good fall rates we have going on right now.
