Posted by: Squaw Valley Lodge
Tuesday-Sunday, through August 25th 7:30pm
Tickets: $15-$80
There's nothing as relaxing as taking in quality summer theater under a cool night sky at one of the most breathtaking venues North America has to offer. Watch the sunset as local actors perform a rousing rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream. One of the wildest by William Shakespeare, the play is brought to life by the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival six nights a week (Tuesday-Sunday), through August 25th. It all takes place at the Warren Edward Trepp Stage in Sand Harbor Park, right on the east shore of the most beautiful lake in the United States. So sit back with a bottle of your favorite Northern California wine, grab a gourmet meal at Shakespeare's Kitchen, and take it all in. It's the proper way to end a day of fun and sun in scenic Tahoe.
What's the Play About?
Full of incredible costumes, brilliant staging, and some of the best acting around, Shakespeare's wildly imaginative comedy classic gets transported to the rock scene of 1960's London. Funny and fun for the whole family, the plot entails two pairs of lovers, a traveling group of aspiring actors, and tons of magic on a midsummer night none of them (or you, for that matter!) will ever forget. It's a rich mix of romance, humor, and rock and roll, with something for everyone to love!
