Add a little extra spookiness to this year's Halloween season by taking part in the Gatekeeper's Ghost Walk. This annual and very popular Tahoe City event gets underway on Thursday October 18, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. It's a truly family-friendly evening that entails strolling Layton Park's haunted nature trail where a variety of ghosts from Tahoe's past just may make a special appearance. And even if they don't, you'll still get an opportunity to hear their sad tales throughout the evening as told by a knowledgeable Tahoe City ghost expert. This fun and free event, which begins at the Gatekeeper Museum, also features delicious hot cider and an appetizing assortment of yummy snacks.
The Gatekeeper's Ghost Walk is part of the 8th Annual Tahoe City Harvest Festival, which begins Saturday, October 6th and runs through Saturday, October 20th. It's an ideal way to mark the changing of the seasons in beautiful Tahoe City. The Harvest Festival also boasts Scarecrows on Parade, which runs through the entire month of October. Everyone is invited to create a scarecrow and deliver it to Heritage Plaza on October 2nd at 9:00 a.m. From there, it will be placed at a location around town for everyone to enjoy. Additional events include the 2nd Friday Exhibit Opening Reception (October 6), Cobblestone Oktoberfest (October 8), Snowfest! Scarecrow Sprint & Stroll (October 13), Zombie Pub Crawl (October 13), Bloody Aftermath (October 14), Food & Wine Pairing Dinner (October 17), and "Felt A Pumpkin" Workshop (October 20).
