Just because it's nearly Spring doesn't mean we can't still be praying for snow at the Squaw Valley Lodge in Lake Tahoe! Come join us in celebrating the 35th anniversary of the North Lake Tahoe Snowfest! At the beginning of every Spring, residents and visitors of North Lake Tahoe come together for a fun-filled 10 day long festival to wish, dance, and play for snow. This is a unique, fun, and totally Tahoe kind of event filled with lots of wacky activities and good times all around!
The opening ceremonies begin on March 3rd, featuring live music, the Queen of Snowfest coronation, and an auction. From there on, we've got 9 more days of fun! Saturday morning will feature the annual Snow parade through Tahoe City. Come and check out the homemade floats and maybe march through the parade yourself! That night, you can head over to Truckee Community Arts center for Cocktail Bingo, or check the annual fireworks show!
There's no rest for the snow weary, though, because you won't want to miss Snowfest's premier event Sunday morning – Wacky Winter Bowling! This game is a festivalgoer favorite year in and year out. Join a team, hop on a sled, and race down a course as you knock down inflatable bowling pins along the way! It's a great family activity and a blast for all ages! Another trademark event happens on the last day of Snowfest – the River Ranch Snow Sculpture Contest! This is a great way to close out the festival by checking out some of the incredible snow and ice sculpture work done by local artists!
Regardless of the weather outside, you might be feeling pretty chilly after all this snow love. Come back to the Squaw Valley Lodge and warm those dogs up by the fire!
