Things to Do at Palisades Tahoe Thanksgiving Weekend

The most wonderful time of year has returned! Storms left Tahoe with several FEET of snow to kick off an early winter and Thanksgiving weekend. Palisades Tahoe opened for the 2022/23 ski season on Friday, November 18, which was an unexpected and welcome surprise! On the horizon is a new base-to-base gondola connecting Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows on December 17! Stay tuned for those details.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to occupy your days over Thanksgiving weekend with skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and snowshoeing. Don't forget dining, tree lighting ceremonies, photos with Santa, and holiday shopping!

Palisades Tahoe Tree Lighting Ceremony + Santa Claus Visit

Get in the holiday spirit with a visit from Santa Claus from 12 to 5PM on Friday, November 25 with hot cocoa and holiday cookies station, photos with Santa. The event culminates with the Palisades Tahoe Village Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5PM. The event is free and open to anyone.  

Light Up the Night Tahoe Donner

There's no better way to welcome in winter than with a little magic and merriment. Bundle up in your warmest coat and bring your friends to Tahoe Donner's annual tree lighting ceremony. The evening's festivities include musical performances from a local choir, hot cocoa and cider to warm the body and soul, wine and beer for added cheer, and a very special visit from the man himself, Santa Claus!

Snowshoeing
Snowshoe: it's a great way to get out and enjoy the new snow! It's the perfect winter activity for a family that wants to get outside. Snowshoe rentals are available in Truckee, Olympic Valley and Tahoe City.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Palisades Tahoe
Leave the cooking to Palisades Tahoe this Thanksgiving! Enjoy a delicious grand buffet with carving stations, charcuterie, seafood, holiday side dishes, and desserts. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival, and afterwards a full bar will be available for purchase. There will be two separate seating's: 2:30pm or 5:30pm. Please make your reservations by November 21st.

Trokay to Go
Trokay does all the work! Pick your pre-made Thanksgiving dinner so you can have more time to focus on friends and family. They will prepare the bird and all the fixings for you so all you will need to do is reheat when you are ready! Place an order for pick up available Wednesday, November. 23rd between 3 am - 6 pm.
