Join in the 2022 Truckee Land Trust Summer and Fall Hiking Series and discover amazing trails for hiking, running and biking! The Truckee Land Trust introduces hikers to FREE docent led hiking adventures going on now until October 8! Explore the volcanic rock at Waddle Ranch, hike through red fir forests to Mount Lola and glimpse expansive views of the Pacific Crest from the Rowton arches! The Truckee Donner Land Trust manages 45 miles of trail in the Sierra and has created a hiking schedule with everyone's abilities in mind.

Hiking Trail Descriptions
- Elizabethtown Meadow – EASY 5m hike through Jeffrey Pine forest uplands and three large mountain meadows with an amazing view of the Pacific Crest.
- Lacey Meadows – EASY 6m hike on the Lacey Valley Trail with meadows and woodlands filled with over a hundred species of birds.
- Donner Lake Rim Trail – MODERATE 4m hike with stunning views of Donner Lake, Mount Rose and the Pacific Crest.
- Johnson Canyon – MODERATE 2.5m hike from the Wendin Way Trail through Johnson Canyon with wildlife and wildflowers and connecting to the Donner Lake Rim Trail.
- Frog Lake Cliffs – MODERATE to DIFFICULT 8m hike along Warren Lake Trail with cliff views of Frog Lake. Winds through dense forest and open vistas along the Sierra crest.
- Waddle Ranch Preserve – MODERATELY DIFFICULT 6m hike in the heart of Martis Valley rolling woods, volcanic rock and uneven terrain.
- Royal Gorge Rim Trail to Point Mariah – MODERATELY to STRENUOUS 6.5m hike overlooking beautiful Royal Gorge and the North Fork of the American River.
- Royal Gorge Rim Trail to Rowton – MODERATELY STRENUOUS 4m hike with expansive views of the Pacific Crest, Granite Chief Wilderness and Crow's Nest, including volcanic geology.
